The Urge to Wander – The Pre-Alps and Me
I was born and raised in the heart of the Pre-Alps, where the world always felt a little more alive. The mornings smelled of dew and pine, the afternoons hummed with the rhythm of cicadas, and the sunsets painted the sky in hues you could never quite match with crayons (though I certainly tried).
Growing up there shaped more than just my childhood—it shaped how I see the world.
Riding my mountain bike through trails that twisted and turned like nature’s own rollercoaster wasn’t just a pastime; it was freedom. The thrill of the ride, the scrape of gravel, and the rush of wind against my face were like a secret handshake between me and the mountains. Hiking, too, became second nature, a ritual that made me feel small in the best possible way. Each summit, each hidden valley was like finding a new pocket of magic.
And then there was the Boy Scouts—those days of camaraderie, campfires, and learning how to tie knots I can’t replicate today if my life depended on it. But it wasn’t just about the skills; it was about learning to appreciate the world around me. There’s something humbling about sleeping under the stars, watching them twinkle without a hint of light pollution to steal their glory. It’s a perspective that sticks with you.
Beauty isn’t just something you see!
Lessons from the Mountains
The mountains taught me that beauty isn’t just something you see; it’s something you feel. It’s in the crunch of leaves underfoot, the smell of rain-soaked earth, and the way the sun dapples through a canopy of trees. It’s fleeting but eternal, and it’s shaped how I approach life and, dare I say, design.
After all, every creative project is a hike of its own—a journey of discovery, persistence, and finding beauty in the details.
