The Urge to Create – About Me
My story begins in St. Pölten, Austria, where I dove headfirst into Graphic Design and Communication studies at the New Design University. Those were the days of creative chaos, countless coffee-fueled nights, and sketchbooks that could double as doorstops. After graduation, I joined a small agency as an Art Director, where I truly began to sharpen my craft.
At this agency, I learned invaluable lessons—particularly about working closely with clients. I discovered that most clients have a crystal-clear idea of what they want but rarely know what they actually need. My job was part designer, part guide, helping them bridge that gap with patience, creativity, and the occasional late-night brainstorm session. It was here that I realized design isn’t just about making things look good—it’s about making things work for people.
Then, life threw me a curveball—or, more accurately, a power chord. While attending a seminar in the Netherlands (where I was working through my inner demons—let’s call it my personal Extremities, Distortion & Various Repressed Emotions Tour), I met someone who would change everything: my wife-to-be. She was the hurricane that swept through my life, knocking me off my feet and spinning me straight to the Baltic coast of Rostock.
... She was the hurricane that swept through my life.
In Rostock, I swapped the Alps for salty sea breezes and began an entirely new chapter. Quitting my job meant stepping into the unknown. Enter stage left: freelance designer life. It felt risky but oh-so-right. Today, I’m living my best creative life somewhere in the woods of Bavaria, alongside my brilliant wife (seriously, she’s got brains and beauty—total jackpot!) and our three adorable, chaos-loving kids. Think of us as a family sitcom in a cabin, with occasional woodland critter cameos.
